Summary:
Day 1 – Arrival in Porto
Arrive in Porto and transfer privately to your hotel, centrally located for comfort and easy access. In the afternoon, enjoy a river cruise on the Douro, passing under its iconic six bridges. End the day with a wine tasting in Gaia, a perfect introduction to the region’s flavors.

Day 2 – Historic Porto & Local Traditions
Explore the UNESCO-listed historic center of Porto by tuk-tuk, with stops at the Clérigos Tower, São Bento station, and the famous Lello Bookstore. In the afternoon, take part in a tile-painting workshop and bring home your own creation.

Day 3 – Douro Valley: Landscapes & Flavors
Spend the day in the stunning Douro Valley, also a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit a wine estate, enjoy a guided tasting, and savor a relaxed lunch with local specialties surrounded by vineyard terraces that descend toward the river.

Day 4 – Coimbra, Aveiro & Train to Lisbon
Start with a moliceiro boat ride along the canals of Aveiro, the “Venice of Portugal,” with a tasting of ovos moles. Continue to Coimbra to visit its historic University and the Joanina Library. In the afternoon, board the first-class Alfa Pendular train to Lisbon.

Day 5 – Lisbon: Alfama & the Soul of the City
Enjoy a 4-hour walking tour through Alfama, Baixa, and Chiado, visiting the Lisbon Cathedral and St. Anthony’s Church. Sample local bites like codfish fritters, bifanas, and croquettes. In the evening, cook alongside a Portuguese family and share dinner in their home.

Day 6 – Lisbon: Belém & Enchanted Sintra
Start the day in Belém with the original pastéis de nata, then visit Belém Tower and Jerónimos Monastery. In the afternoon, head to Sintra to explore the National Palace and the mystical Quinta da Regaleira. Close the day with a fado dinner in Alfama.

Day 7 – Évora & the Alentejo Region
Day trip to Évora, a UNESCO site. Visit the Roman Temple, the eerie Chapel of Bones, and the Cathedral. In the afternoon, enjoy a tasting of olive oil, wine, cheese, and cured meats at a local estate. Return to Lisbon in the evening.

Day 9 – Algarve Coast & Sea Caves
In the morning, take a boat trip to explore the famous sea caves, including the iconic Benagil cave. In low season, the activity is replaced by a visit to Loulé market and Tavira town. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner by the sea.

Day 11 – São Miguel: Lagoons & Geothermal Wonders
Visit the viewpoints of Sete Cidades in the morning, then head to Furnas in the afternoon. Lunch includes the traditional cozido cooked in volcanic steam, followed by time to relax in hot springs or the Terra Nostra gardens.

Day 13 – Lagoa do Fogo & Ocean Adventures
Morning hike up to Lagoa do Fogo, one of the most beautiful lagoons in the Azores. In the afternoon, choose between whale and dolphin watching by boat or visiting the Gorreana and Porto Formoso tea plantations. End the day with a seaside dinner in Ponta Delgada.
