Day-by-day itinerary

Summary:

Day 1 – Arrival in Delhi and rest after the flight

We begin our adventure at Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in the country. Then we tour the bustling streets of Old Delhi by rickshaw, full of life and colors, and visit the Chandni Chowk market. In the afternoon, we explore Akshardham Temple, a jewel of modern spiritual architecture.

Day 2 – Old Delhi, Jama Masjid and Akshardham Temple

Day 3 – Journey to Agra and first views of the Taj Mahal

We traveled to Agra, a city synonymous with Mughal art. In the afternoon, we visited the Taj Mahal at sunset, one of the most beautiful monuments in the world. Its white silhouette bathed in golden light creates a moment that will be etched in our memories.

Day 4 – Red Fort and marble and embroidery workshops

We begin the day by visiting the Red Fort of Agra, a red sandstone fortress with gardens, courtyards, and views of the Yamuna River. Then we visit workshops where delicate marble pieces and zardozi textiles are crafted, techniques inherited from the splendor of the Mughal Empire.

Day 5 – Journey to Jaipur with a stop along the road

We set off for Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. We enjoyed the desert scenery and stopped en route for lunch and to stretch our legs. We arrived in Jaipur in the afternoon and settled into our hotel, ready to explore this vibrant city.

Day 6 – Amer Fortress, Galta Temple and Elephants

We climbed to Amer Fortress, nestled in the mountains, and admired its majestic architecture. Then we visited the Galta Temple, a sanctuary hidden among the hills, and in the afternoon, we spent time with elephants at Hathi Gaon, learning about their history and care.

Day 7 – City Palace and free time in Jaipur

We explored the City Palace and the Jantar Mantar astronomical observatory, remnants of the maharajas' scientific and aesthetic legacy. The afternoon is free: you can wander through the bazaars, enjoy an Ayurvedic massage, or simply soak up the local atmosphere.

Day 8 – Golden Temple and the spiritual essence of Amritsar

We visited the Golden Temple, the spiritual heart of Sikhism, a place filled with music, devotion, and sacred silence. We walked through its marble halls, observed the sanctuary's reflection on the lake, and visited the communal kitchen where thousands of volunteers prepare food for everyone. In the afternoon, we explored the nearby markets, brimming with bracelets, textiles, and local flavors.

Day 9 – Houseboat in Srinagar and shikara ride

We flew to Srinagar, in the Kashmir Valley, and settled into our traditional houseboat, a unique experience on the tranquil waters of the lake. In the afternoon, we sailed in a shikara among water lilies, mountains, and floating houses, enjoying the leisurely pace and the beauty of the scenery.

Day 10 – Mughal gardens and local life in Srinagar

Today we visit the Mughal gardens of Shalimar and Nishat, designed with terraces, fountains, and spectacular views of the Himalayan mountains. Afterward, we explore the old town of Srinagar, with its wooden mosques, artisan bazaars, and shops selling handwoven pashmina. A day to connect with the history and culture of Kashmir.

Day 11 – Mountains and villages of the Kashmir Valley

We explored the surrounding valley, visiting mountainous areas as conditions allowed. We hiked through meadows, learning about the region's rural life. In the afternoon, we returned to the houseboat to relax by the lake.

Day 12 – Heading to Rishikesh, on the banks of the Ganges River

We set off for Rishikesh, a sacred city nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas. After settling in, we enjoyed the natural and spiritual surroundings. At sunset, we attended the Ganga Aarti ceremony, where chants, candles, and flowers honor the energy of the sacred river.

Day 13 – Yoga, ashrams and sacred caves

We began the day with a yoga session and breakfast outdoors. Then we explored ashrams, temples, and the Lakshman Jhula area. In the afternoon, we meditated in sacred caves by the river, ending the day with calm, silence, and inner connection.

Day 14 – Diwali: celebrating the light with intention

We experience Diwali in Rishikesh, taking part in rituals, lighting candles, and celebrating the victory of light over darkness. A moment to give thanks, release, and renew our energy in one of India’s most sacred places.

Along the way, we’ll visit ancient temples, take part in rituals, practice yoga, and connect with local communities. Everything is designed so that Diwali is not just a beautiful event, but a moment of real connection — with the culture, with spirituality, and with ourselves.

Day 15 – Farewell and return to Delhi

After breakfast, we drive back to Delhi for our international flights. We close this journey with our hearts alight, carrying with us all that we have lived, learned, and felt.
